Spotlight Club: Aktion Club of Geneseo
The new Aktion Club of Geneseo is already providing service and leadership opportunities for adults with disabilities. This Aktion Club was organized by the Kiwanis Club of Geneseo, and meets twice a month.
“People with disabilities don’t always have the best opportunities to share our talents,” says Aktion Club President Andrew Sass. “Aktion Club lets us create those opportunities for ourselves, and make a positive difference in and around Geneseo.”
Since coming together for the first time just a few months ago, the Akton Club has initiated a number of projects that will benefit organizations including Teresa House, Heritage Christian Services, Catholic Charities, and the Groveland Food Pantry. These ventures include creating and selling handmade bracelets and greeting cards, and partnering with Finger Lakes Cookie Company for a fundraiser.
Geneseo’s Aktion Club is open to any adult with a disability who resides in Geneseo and wants to serve the community and benefit others through volunteering.
